This is a delicious traditional pasty filled with soya ‘meat’, potato, swede, and onion.
We have a variety of buns in abundance for your BBQ needs over the coming weeks.
There are Brioche Buns, Crusty or Soft Cobs, and others to choose from (both Cobs are suitable for vegans).
These and other products are available for purchase in the shop or to order for delivery through Good Sixty – https://www.goodsixty.co.uk/retailers/bristol/96-joe-s-bakery
These new screens are up in the main shop now and enable us to open the third till which will help speed our serving times and your time spent in the shop.
We’re pleased to see many of our customers returning to our shops and trust you will all continue to take care and stay well.
Hot griddle and savoury products, freshly made sandwiches and filled rolls, and tea and coffee are all available from Joe’s Express.
From Tuesday 27th the main Joe’s Bakery will revert to 7pm closing.
Both shops will be closed this Bank Holiday Monday 25th May.
A big thank you to all our customers for helping to maintain the recommended social distance – both in our shops and whilst queueing outside.
Thank you also for your continued patience with our staff and for continuing to support us through this time.
Lastly, a reminder that both our shops are open Mondays to Saturdays from 7am to 5pm.
Both shops will be open as follows over the Easter weekend –
Good Friday 7am – 4pm
Easter Saturday 7am – 5pm
Closed Sunday
Closed Easter Monday
We have our delicious Easter Bread which is a wheat and rye bread containing raisins, cherries, mixed citrus peel, hazelnuts, walnuts, and fresh lemon zest.
Simnel Cake is a traditional lightly spiced English fruit cake made with fresh butter, and containing candied cherries and citrus peel, currants, sultanas, fresh lemon zest and a marzipan layer in the middle and on top.
The eleven marzipan balls represent the twelve Apostles minus Judas. Simnel cake is traditionally associated with both Mothering Sunday and Easter.
Our Hot Cross Buns include some vegan options, and chocolate ones will be in the main shop from tomorrow 4th April.
And, of course, our delicious Easter Biscuits, traditionally flavoured with Oil of Cassia.
We cannot deal with any enquiries or order requests currently via the website or facebook – we are overwhelmed and do not wish to miss anything vital at this time.
Many thanks for your understanding and ongoing support.
During this time both our shops remain open – Joe’s Bakery in Bishopston, and the Bread Store (on the Gloucester Road).
Please be aware that both shops will be open Mondays to Saturdays 7am to 5pm for the foreseeable future, with freshly baked bread available every day that we are open.
We are committed to supporting our local community and customers through this time, and all our staff are following the recommended health and safety guidelines with appropriate changes ensuring adherence to newly emerging advice.
We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst waiting to be served at this time – short delays are due to the additional precautions we are taking in our shops, and an increase in customers, sometimes resulting in queues.
Thank you for your support, and please take good care
We have delicious vegan Mexican Bean Pasties – filled with potato and mixed (borlotti, cannellini, haricot, and kidney) beans in a seasoned tomato sauce…
It’s approaching that time again, and we already have Hot Cross Buns (plain, wholemeal, and vegan) and Easter Biscuits in the shop…
